Job Description: Career Counselor (Social Sciences - Sociology)
Position Overview:
The Career Counselor will play a crucial role in assisting individuals in the field of Social Sciences, specifically Sociology, to explore, develop, and achieve their career goals. 8. Collaborate with academic advisors, faculty members, and employers to establish strong partnerships and create networking opportunities for students and alumni.
9. Assist clients with resume and cover letter writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies tailored to the social sciences industry.
10. Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions, client progress, and job placement outcomes.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Sociology or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
2. Proven experience in career counseling or related roles within the social sciences field.
3. In-depth knowledge of the social sciences industry, specifically Sociology, and an understanding of various career paths and opportunities.
4. Strong counseling skills with the ability to assess and guide individuals through their career development journey.
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
6. Familiarity with career assessment tools and resources.
7. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, alumni, faculty, and employers.
